The College pays the premium for an amount of insurance equal to one and one half times an eligible employees base annual salary.

An employee may voluntarily elect to add up to five times the unit of insurance (one unit of insurance equals an employees base annual salary), of the employees pay via payroll deduction through MetLife at affordable group rates.

All faculty and staff, who work a minimum regular schedule of 20 hours per week during the academic year, have the option of participating in one of two dental plans administered by Delta Dental of Kentucky. Dependent children are covered to age 23, full-time students up to age 25.

All faculty and staff who work a minimum regular schedule of 20 hours per week during the academic year are eligible to purchase vision coverage through Anthem. The College provides eligible employees with long-term disability insurance after one year of service. This coverage will give you the peace of mind that you will be adequately covered should something out of your control cause you to miss work.

Faculty and staff working a minimum of 1,000 hours annually are eligible after one year of service and obtaining age twenty-one. The College makes payments representing 10 percent of the employees base salary. Contributions begin first of the month, following one year anniversary. TIAA-CREF is the provider and funds are invested at the direction of the employee.

Additionally, faculty and staff may elect to make a payroll deduction to a Supplemental Retirement Annuity account within the limits of section 403b of the Internal Revenue Code.

Flexible spending accounts, or FSAs, provide eligible employees with an important tax advantage that can help you pay health care and dependent care expenses on a pretax basis. By anticipating your familys health care and dependent care costs for the next plan year, you can lower your taxable income.

The College currently has 13 paid holidays. Prior to the start of each academic year, the College determines which holidays will be recognized and the specific days the holiday will be celebrated. In addition to the college-wide holidays, each employee has four (4) floating holidays per academic year available to schedule in advance with their supervisors approval.
